In this context, government officials say, the height of the world’s tallest bridge is going to be higher than what it has so far.
Work on the bridge has gained momentum in the last one year.
Work is underway on the world’s highest railway bridge over the Chenab River in Kashmir.
India’s highest railway bridge over the Chenab River in Jammu and Kashmir will be completed by 2021, and trains will run on the bridge for the first time by 2022.
Construction of the bridge over the Chenab River in Jammu and Kashmir began in 2019.
However, the work may still take more than a year to complete.
It is learned that the train will be able to run in December 2022. Kashmir is expected to be connected to the whole of India by rail.
This bridge will be very helpful for direct access to this region from other provinces of India.
The bridge, 46 meters wide and 359 meters above the ground, is expected to be much taller than the Eiffel Tower in Paris.
According to the information given by the government official, it is being made with the technology that can withstand the speed of 26 km per hour.
Notably, 25 km of Udhampur-Katra in Kashmir, 16 km of Banihal-Kwazigund, and 116 km of Kwazigund-Barmullah have already been commissioned.

Besides, work on the 111 km area of Katra-Banihal is in progress at the last stage. The Prime Minister’s Development Plan allocated Rs 60,08 crore for this project.
The bridge is expected to bring social, political, and cultural development to the valley area.
